Worksheet generator — paste a list, print a sheet

Your own words, in any language. Paste a list, pick a format, and print a clean sheet with an answer key. Nothing is uploaded — the list stays in your browser.

Teaching a published exam level instead? The JLPT, HSK and CEFR worksheets come pre-filled from the full vocabulary list for each level.

0 words

The word is printed and the meaning is left blank. The most common format for a weekly vocabulary check, and the quickest to mark because the answer key lists the same rows in the same order.

Accepted formats

食べる	to eat ← tab-separated
食べる	たべる	to eat ← word, reading, meaning
食べる - to eat ← dash, also — – = | ; , :
食べる ← word only, meaning left blank
# lines starting with a hash are ignored

A column copied straight out of a spreadsheet arrives tab-separated, so pasting from Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets works without editing. The separator is detected from whichever one most of your lines use, so a meaning containing a comma will not split the row in the wrong place.

Printing

Print goes through your browser's own dialog, where choosing "Save as PDF" as the destination gives you a real PDF with selectable text and correct Japanese and Chinese characters. Sheets are laid out black-on-white for a photocopier, and quiz formats put the answer key on its own page so you can print page one for students.

Your list is kept in this browser only and is restored if you come back. Nothing is sent to a server, which also means clearing site data will clear the list.
