(Subject) + 不妨 + Verb / Verb Phrase
How it works
The word '不妨' is used to suggest that an action is worth trying or that there is no harm in doing something. It is often used in formal or polite suggestions to indicate that a particular course of action is advisable or harmless.
Examples
既然你已经到了这里,不妨进去看看。
Jìrán nǐ yǐjīng dàole zhèlǐ, bùfáng jìnqù kànkan.
Since you are already here, you might as well go in and have a look.

Common mistakes
Do not use '不妨' to give strong commands or orders; it is meant to be a suggestive and relatively gentle recommendation.
Tip
Think of '不妨' as 'why not' in English. It is frequently paired with '既然' (jìrán - since) to justify why the suggestion is being made.
