How it works
This structure is used to present a situation from the opposite perspective or to state the converse of a previous point. It often functions as a sentence connector to show that while the first point is true, the inverse or a contrasting reality is also significant.
Examples
优秀的管理者会影响团队，反过来说，团队的氛围也会影响管理者。
Yōuxiù de guǎnlǐzhě huì yǐngxiǎng tuánduì, fǎnguòláishuō, tuánduì de fēnwéi yě huì yǐngxiǎng guǎnlǐzhě.
Excellent managers influence the team; conversely, the team's atmosphere also affects the manager.
我们不能只要求别人尊重自己，反过来，我们也应该学会先尊重别人。
Wǒmen bùnéng zhǐ yāoqiú biérén zūnzhòng zìjǐ, fǎnguòlái, wǒmen yě yīnggāi xuéhuì xiān zūnzhòng biérén.

Common mistakes
Confusing '反过来说' with '反而'. While '反而' indicates an outcome contrary to expectations, '反过来' emphasizes switching the perspective or the direction of an action.
Tip
Think of it like a mirror; use it when the two parts of your argument involve the same entities but the direction of the action or influence is reversed.
