How many grammar points are in JLPT N5?
InputDojo covers 59 N5 grammar points. There is no official number, because the JLPT has published no content specification since the 2010 revision — every N5 grammar list you find, including this one, is a reconstruction from past papers and textbooks. Most reconstructions land between 50 and 90 depending on how finely they split particles and copula forms.

Why the counts you see disagree
The variation is almost entirely a splitting problem, not a disagreement about content. Is the te-form one grammar point or six, one per verb group plus the irregulars? Is XはYです one point or two, counting the negative? A list that treats each particle usage separately will run to ninety entries and a list that groups them will stop at fifty, and both will teach the same Japanese. Comparing raw totals between sites tells you about their editorial policy rather than about the exam.
What N5 grammar actually is
Nearly all of it is sentence scaffolding: the particles は, が, を, に, で, と, も and から; the copula です and its past and negative; the three verb groups in polite form; adjective conjugation for both い and な adjectives; and the te-form, which unlocks requests, ongoing actions and permission. Once those hold, you can express most everyday intentions clumsily but correctly, which is the point of the level.
Counting them is not the useful part
Fifty-nine points is a fortnight of study and a year of recognition. The gap between having read an explanation of ～てもいいです and noticing it unprompted in speech is where the actual time goes, and it does not close by reviewing the list again. It closes by meeting each point in enough different sentences that the pattern stops needing to be decoded.

Is there an official JLPT N5 grammar list?
No. The Japan Educational Exchanges and Services stopped publishing a content specification when the test was restructured in 2010. What it publishes now are can-do statements describing what a passer should manage, not the grammar that gets tested.
How long does N5 grammar take?
Reading through all of it takes a few weeks. Recognising it reliably under time pressure in the listening section takes several months for most people, and that second part is what the exam actually measures.
Do I need every N5 point to pass N5?
No. N5 is scored across language knowledge, reading and listening, and the pass mark is well below full marks. Gaps in a few rarer patterns are survivable; gaps in the particles are not.
