JLPT N5

まだ~ていません

Have not yet done

Structure

まだ + Verb て-form + いません

How it works

Used to indicate that an action or event has not yet occurred or been completed. It implies an expectation that it will happen eventually.

Examples

宿題はまだ終わっていません。

I haven't finished my homework yet.

Common mistakes

Forgetting the て-form and just using the plain negative form (e.g., 終わりません instead of 終わっていません).

Tip

Combine 'まだ' (still/yet) with 'te-imasen' (not in the state of doing/having done).
