JLPT N5
~てから
After doing, since (time)
Structure
Verb て-form + から
How it works
Used to indicate that one action occurs completely after another action. It establishes a chronological sequence.
Examples
ご飯を食べてから、寝ます。
After eating, I will sleep.
Common mistakes
Forgetting to use the て-form and incorrectly using a plain form or ます-form before から.
Tip
Visualize the 'て-form' as a 'bridge' connecting the first action to the second, with 'から' specifying 'from that point'.
