What it explains
〜てあげる: the favour goes outward
て-form plus あげる says the speaker did it for someone else. かしました is I lent it; かしてあげました is I lent it to help them. The second is warmer and, between people at the same level or towards someone newer, entirely normal.
Do not say it upward
Said to a teacher, a manager or a customer, てあげる announces that you did them a kindness, and the announcement is the problem. To Sato you would simply say 「コピーを しました」, or offer with 「お手伝いしましょうか」. The grammar is correct; the social reading is not.
