Is the free tier actually usable, or just a demo?

Usable. Free covers importing your own text and URLs, instant word lookup, the complete JLPT N5–N1 and HSK 1–9 databases, marking what you know, and quizzes. Paid tiers add saving vocabulary to spaced repetition and the AI features.

Which languages does it work for?

Fourteen: Japanese, Chinese, English, Spanish, French, German, Korean, Portuguese, Italian, Arabic, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and Russian. Japanese and Chinese go deepest — full JLPT and HSK vocabulary, character and grammar databases with exam tracking. The others get the reader, lookup, spaced repetition and AI features.

Can I use this with my class, and what does that cost?

Yes. Teacher plans let you create courses, set reading, vocabulary and writing homework, auto-generate quizzes and track every student. Teacher is $29/month with 30 student seats; Teacher Pro is $49/month with 100. Students join with a code and don't pay anything.

What happens to my students' data?

It is never sold and never used to train AI models, and there is no advertising anywhere in InputDojo. You can see their progress within your own courses and nothing outside them. The privacy policy lists every field a teacher can access, and schools can request a data processing agreement.

Do I need a credit card to try it?

No. Every new account gets 14 days of Ultimate free with no card, and teacher accounts get 30 days. When a trial ends you drop to the free tier rather than being charged.

Is there a limit on the AI features?

Yes, and we'd rather state it plainly than say "unlimited". Monthly allowances are 200 AI requests on Free, 600 on Pro and 2000 on Ultimate, plus 20 voice conversation sessions a month on Ultimate. They're set well above normal use — they exist so one heavy account can't run up the bill for everyone.

Who builds InputDojo?

InputDojo was created by Ken Ryrbo, based in Sweden. He has studied both Japanese and Chinese and lived, worked and studied in both countries — which is where the method comes from.
