What it explains
なら takes the other person's word for it
なら does not ask whether the thing is true — it accepts that you said so and moves on. 「えきへ 行くのなら」 means given that you are going. This makes it the conditional of conversation: it almost always answers something. Attach it to plain forms and to nouns directly.
〜ばよかった and 〜てよかった
Two ways of looking back. 持ってくれば よかった — I should have brought it, and I did not. 来て よかった — I came, and I am glad. The first takes ば and regrets; the second takes て and is relieved. They are a matched pair and worth learning together.
