JLPT N2
~が気になる
To be worried about; to be concerned about
Structure
Noun + が気になる / Verb plain form + の + が気になる
How it works
~が気になる expresses that something is a matter of concern, causes worry, or occupies one's thoughts. It can also imply being interested in something slightly.
Examples
最近、彼の態度が少し気になる。
Lately, his attitude has been bothering me a little.
Common mistakes
Only using it for 'being interested'. While possible, the N2 usage leans heavily towards 'worry' or 'concern'.
Tip
Think of 気 (ki) as 'spirit' or 'mind'. When something affects your 気, it 'becomes a concern to your mind'.
