JLPT N2

~でいいです

Is fine/acceptable with; will do

Structure

Noun + でいいです

How it works

~でいいです is used to state that a particular choice or option is acceptable, sufficient, or satisfactory, often when it's not the first choice but will serve the purpose.

Examples

お茶でいいですか? はい、お茶でいいです。

Is tea okay? Yes, tea is fine.

Common mistakes

Overusing it when a more enthusiastic 'それがいいです (sore ga ii desu)' (that's good) or 'これがいいです (kore ga ii desu)' (this is good) is more appropriate for a preferred choice.

Tip

Think of it as 'This option is good enough for me.' It expresses acceptance of something that might not be perfect.
